As we power through the long, long college basketball offseason (as best we can) the folks over at Field of 68 continue to grace us with various lists and rankings, mostly focused on the upcoming season.
However, their latest endeavor is a countdown of the top individual moments in the last 20 years of college hoops. Gonzaga made an earlier appearance on the list for the very famous (or infamous) Adam Morrison crying game when they lost to UCLA in the 2006 NCAA Tournament.
Fortunately, their ultimate redemption was higher ranked on the list – when Jalen Suggs hit his iconic half court bank shot to send the Bruins home and send the Zags to their second ever NCAA Championship game during the 2021 season.
The No. 1 moment hasn’t been revealed yet, although Kris Jenkins hitting a game-winner in the national championship game to defeat North Carolina and win it all in 2016 is probably the only moment worthy of a spot above Suggs’ cathartic and heroic game winner in 2021 – even if the stadium was nearly empty because of COVID-19 protocols.
