David Stockton dishes out nine assists in Team USA FIBA victory over Uruguay

Team USA secured a big victory in the FIBA America qualifiers on Thursday, defeating Uruguay by a score of 105-71.

David Stockton led the team with nine assists in just under 17 minutes of action, while tacking on five points on 2-4 shooting and a pair of rebounds.

John Jenkins paced Team USA with 22 points, while Langston Galloway added 18. Former BYU forward Eric Mika had five off the bench.

Stockton is one of many Gonzaga alumni participating in FIBA qualifiers, including Domantas Sabonis (Lithuania) Angel Nunez (Dominican Republic) Jeremy Pargo (AmeriCup) and Kelly Olynyk and Kevin Pangos (Canada).

Stockton joined Team USA back in February for qualifying events, but was gone from the team in July due to an injury. Now he’s back with the squad, as they get set to take on Columbia on August 29.
