Tommy Kuhse follows in Patty Mills’ footsteps, signs deal with San Antonio Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs and their love affair with Saint Mary’s players continues with a report from JD Shaw of Hoops Rumors indicating the team inked former Gaels point guard Tommy Kuhse to a deal on Thursday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, although this is likely an Exhibit 10 contract. That allows Kuhse to come to training camp and compete for an actual roster spot, or a two-way contract if one is available.

Kuhse becomes the latest WCC alumni to sign with an NBA squad, joining San Francisco’s Jamaree Bouyea who inked a deal with the Miami Heat. Santa Clara’s Jalen Williams is with Oklahoma City after getting selected No. 12 overall in the 2022 NBA draft.

Kuhse also becomes the latest Gael to join the Spurs, following in the footsteps of longtime NBA veteran Patty Mills, as well as center Jock Landale.

Kuhse will look to make San Antonio’s roster after averaging 17.3 points and 3.3 assists in 23.2 minutes per game during the summer league, where he played for the Orlando Magic.
