Gonzaga set to host Northern Illinois in mid-December as part of non-conference schedule

One down, two to go as the Gonzaga Bulldogs get closer and closer to completing their non-conference schedule for the 2022-23 season.

The latest addition is Northern Illinois from the MAC, who will come to Spokane to play at The Kennel on Monday, December 12, according to a release from the Wildcats:

Northern Illinois went 9-21 last season, including just 6-14 in MAC action. They finished the season ranked No. 297 in KenPom’s rankings.

This is the kind of game Mark Few and the Zags typically tack on to the end of their non-conference slate. With Texas, Baylor, Alabama, Michigan State, Kentucky, Washington, and the PK85 already on the docket, the final few games will likely be opponents around or outside the top-300 in KenPom’s rankings.

According to basketball-reference, this will be the first time these two programs have ever met.
