Former Gonzaga pitcher Nick Trogrlic-Iverson named Midwest League Pitcher of the Week

Former Gonzaga Bulldogs right-handed pitcher Nick Trogrlic-Iverson was named the Midwest League Pitcher of the Week for the Peoria Chiefs, according to an Instagram post from MiLB.

Trogrlic-Iverson played at Gonzaga in 2019 and 2020 after transferring from Central Arizona Community College. He signed with the St. Louis Cardinals after the shortened COVID-19 season in 2020, and has spent the entirety of the 2022 season in High-A with the Chiefs, pitching in a relief role.

In 26 games, Trogrlic-Iverson has thrown 55.1 innings with a 3.25 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and a 53:14 K:BB ratio along with four saves.

Trogrlic-Iverson is one of many Gonzaga pitchers finding success in the professional ranks this season. Alek Jacob has been excellent as part of the San Diego Padres organization, while Eli Morgan is having a career year with the Cleveland Guardians and Wyatt Mills is having success with his new team the Kansas City Royals.
