It turns out Chet Holmgren is not the only Gonzaga big man who was recently spotted working out with NBA superstar Kevin Durant this summer.
Durant participated a celebrity softball game in Portland over the weekend alongside Gonzaga forward Ben Gregg. The event was put on by Mike James and featured a handful of local area athletes.
Photos posted by Matt Gregg, Ben’s father, show Gregg and Durant chatting it up at first base during the contest.
Gregg is from Clackamas, Oregon and is about to enter his third season in Spokane, although he is still a sophomore after joining the team during what normally would have been his senior year of high school.
The 6’10 forward averaged 1.6 points and 1.5 rebounds in 35 games over the past two years. While he’s not expected to be a big time contributor in year three, a little fraternizing on the basepaths with one of the greatest scorers in NBA history probably won’t hurt Gregg’s preparation for another season at Gonzaga.
