The Gonzaga Bulldogs have been relatively quiet on the recruiting trail this season, with only one player committed for each of the 2022 and 2023 classes up to this point.
The staff is still staying quite busy, however, and it looks like they are keeping their eyes peeled even further into the future after making an offer to 2024 point guard Dedan Thomas, according to Jake Weingarten of Stockrisers.
Thomas is a 6’1 point guard from Liberty High School in Nevada – the same high school as current Zag Julian Strawther. He is ranked No. 38 in his class according to 247Sports’ composite rankings, and he already has offers from Florida, Houston, LSU, UCLA, USC, and Arizona – among others.
The transfer portal era makes it even more difficult to project future lineups and rotations, but it’s not hard to imagine that all of Gonzaga’s current guards – Malachi Smith, Rasir Bolton, Nolan Hickman, Hunter Sallis, and Dominick Harris – will be onto professional careers by the time Thomas would start his college career.
The connection with Strawther is a nice leg up for Few and the Zags, but Thomas is a highly-touted prospect already and is going to have a lot of options when it comes time to make a decision for his next steps.
