Former Gonzaga Bulldogs point guard Josh Perkins inked a new contract on Sunday with Hapoel Gilboa Galil for the 2022-23 season.
Perkins, Gonzaga’s all-time assists leader, has bounced around quite a bit since leaving Spokane after the 2018-19 season. He spent the 19-20 campaign in the G-League with the Greensboro Swarm and Texas Legends, and spent the next two years in Poland, Turkey, Serbia, Italy, and Puerto Rico.
Perkins was on the roster for Team Friday Beers in The Basketball Tournament, but he did not suit up for a game before inking his new deal with Hapoel, a team based in Northern Israel in the Israeli Basketball Premier League.
Perkins will be among the most notable Americans to play for Gilboa Galil, which was formed back in 2008 and counts former NBA player Mike James and former Florida State player Ian Miller among former players.
Perkins averaged 10.2 points and 4.7 assists in 153 games for Gonzaga, leading the team to their first title game appearance in 2017.
