Former Gonzaga Bulldogs superstar guard Courtney Vandersloot is set to appear in her fourth WNBA All-Star Game on Sunday, representing the defending champion Chicago Sky in Chicago.
Vandersloot is on Team Stewart alongside Breanna Stewart and co-captain Sue Bird. Vandersloot’s teammate Candace Parker opposes her on Team Wilson, while her other teammate (and wife) Allie Quigley is set to participate in the three-point shootout – where a victory would be her fourth.
Sloot is also set to participate in the Skills Competition, alongside Kelsey Plum, Jackie Young, Sabrina Ionescu, and others:
Vandersloot was first an All-Star when she was a rookie back in 2011, and, after a seven year gap, she has been one in three of the last four seasons. It’s a remarkable trend as she continues her peak into her early 30’s.
Sloot, now 33, is averaging 11.5 points, 6.4 assists, four rebounds and one steal per game while shooting 38.9% from three – over 40 points higher than she shot last season.
Not only that, the Sky are 15-6 and in first place in the entire league, and Sloot is leading in clutch points as well, including a pair of buzzer beating, game winning three pointers.
The All-Star game tips-off at 10:00 AM PT on Sunday, July 10, while the skills challenge is set for Saturday at 12:00 PM PT.
